Supporting Patients
At Help The Helpers we aim to support patients with fairness and compassion. We provide sponsorship and financial support to help cover the costs of a prescription for medical cannabis for one year of therapy.
The reality is that the financial costs of medical cannabis can restrict access to potentially life-changing medications for those patients who are unable to work due to their illness.
Help The Helpers provides charitable support to low income patients, pensioners, and veterans by sponsoring some or all of their prescription for a cannabis-based medicinal product.
This plant medicine not only has a positive impact on the patients’ quality of life but also the quality of life for the helpers of that patient (close family and friends). The better the quality of life and the happier the patient is, the better the quality of life their friends and family have.
Applying For Help
Sponsorship applications can be made before a full clinical assessment of a patient by an expert in their condition.
Help The Helpers supports the financial costs for cannabis-based medicinal products in Australia.
In order to protect patients, those shortlisted for sponsorship will undergo an eligibility assessment from a medical cannabis consultant that is made in accordance with TGA guidelines with a suitable clinic to ensure that we support the correct therapy.
Principles
Help The Helpers is an Australian registered charity that exists to relieve hardship and distress caused by any medical condition that may benefit from medical cannabis treatment.
To ensure that the sponsorship’s are appropriately awarded to the patients who would benefit the most, all applications are income tested and will require you to provide financial statements.
To help us make a decision, evidence is needed of all income, savings and capital, and all outstanding liabilities for all members of the household. This information is used to get a picture of your full circumstances and therefore your needs. Without it we cannot understand the full picture and we won’t be able to make a decision on what help we can provide.
